Who we are
Snowy Table is a recipe and cooking website available at https://snowytable.com/. Questions about this policy can be sent to snowytable@snowytable.com.
Information you choose to share
We receive the information you provide when you contact us, subscribe for updates, submit a recipe, create an account, save a shopping list or collection, rate a recipe, or leave a comment. Depending on the feature, that may include your name, email address, recipe content, uploaded images, profile information, and the text of your message or review.
Comments, ratings, and community features
When visitors leave comments or ratings, we collect the information shown in the form together with technical information used for spam prevention and site security. An anonymized version of your email address may be sent to Gravatar to determine whether you use that service. After approval, your public profile image may appear with your comment.
Recipe activity and searches
We use first-party counters to understand which recipes are viewed, searched for, opened, saved, printed, shared, rated, discussed, or sent to a shopping service. These counters help us improve recommendations and the homepage. Recipe-ranking records contain aggregate counts rather than raw IP addresses. Short-lived abuse controls use keyed, pseudonymous identifiers derived from network and browser information. Individual search queries may also be recorded by our site-search software. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, the Snowy Table ranking counter does not record the event.
Shopping and affiliate partners
Recipe pages may offer buttons for Instacart, Walmart through eMeals, Amazon, or other retailers. When you choose one of these services, you leave Snowy Table and the partner’s privacy policy applies. The service may receive the recipe ingredients or product you selected. Some links are affiliate links, which means Snowy Table may earn a commission from a qualifying purchase at no additional cost to you.
Cookies and local storage
Cookies and similar browser storage may remember your login, comment details, saved recipes, recipe collections, shopping list, display preferences, and whether an activity has already been counted. A short session identifier may be created when a page contains a measurable recipe action. Login and account cookies are used only when you choose those features. You can control cookies through your browser, although disabling them may prevent saved lists and account features from working.
Media and embedded content
If you upload an image, avoid including embedded location data such as EXIF GPS. Pages may include embedded video, images, or other content from third parties. Embedded content can behave as if you visited the provider directly and may be subject to that provider’s cookies and privacy practices.
How we use information
We use information to operate site features, respond to requests, moderate submissions, prevent abuse, improve recipes and recommendations, and send updates you requested. Access may be available to site administrators and service providers who operate those features. Internet services carry risk, so please do not submit sensitive personal information through recipe, comment, or contact forms.
Retention and your choices
Comments and their metadata may be retained so follow-up comments can be recognized. Aggregate recipe counters may remain until they are reset, while rate-limit and duplicate-control records expire automatically. Search, web-server, and security logs may include query text, IP address, browser information, and timestamps and are retained according to operational and security needs. Account information remains until the account is changed or deleted, subject to records we must retain for security, legal, or administrative reasons. You may unsubscribe using the link in an email and may ask to access or delete personal information associated with your account by contacting us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Snowy Table adds new recipes, community features, shopping partners, or advertising tools. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
